This series of illustrations was made in collaboration with the University of Iowa’s Mobile Museum and the Museum of Natural History. Six diverse species of native Iowa birds were selected to show the variety of birds and their wingspans.
Style: Full Color
Media: Graphite, Photoshop
Silhouettes
The silhouettes were designed to cover a wall of the Mobile Museum’s Wild Iowa exhibit so that the visitors, specifically younger ones, could compare their own arm span to the wingspans of the birds.

Individual Birds
The individual detailed illustrations were printed to scale on fabric and stored in a low drawer in the Museum of Natural History’s Hageboeck Hall of Birds. This drawer is intended to capture the interest of young children so that they pull out and interact with the different wingspans.
